Indoor Soccer Rules

 

1. Size 5 Soccer balls will be used for all games.

2. Games half field will play 8v8 (7+GK).

3. Substitutions can be made during stoppages after informing the referee, and must be made at half way.

4. The player exiting the field on a substitution must leave the field before the player going on can enter the field.

5. Goalkeeper cannot punt the ball; an indirect free kick will be awarded at the point of infarction.

6. Players must wear sneakers, indoor soccer footwear, or turf shoes, and shin guards are mandatory. NO SOCCER CLEATS WILL BE ALLOWED.

7. Respect all Referee calls as final. Coach sportsmanship is important.

8. Games will be 50 minutes in length (2x25 Minute halves). Please help us remove any injured player as quickly as possible as we are unable to grant extended injury time.

9. Balls on goal kicks cannot cross half field without bouncing before or touching another player-an indirect kick awarded at midfield for the other team in such an infringement.

10. Any ball hitting any light or bubble in the field of play is considered in play unless ruled as out of play by the referee, resulting in an indirect free kick for the other team from the point of the infraction. BALLS HITTING THE BUBBLE BY THE END LINE WILL BE RULED OUT OF PLAY.

11. The offside rule will be in play during all full size field games.

12. All restarts, except penalty kicks, will be indirect. Opposing players must give 5 yards on all restarts.

13. Penalty kicks will be taken at a spot one-yard in from the goalkeeper’s area; all players must be behind the ball until the penalty taker has kicked the ball.

14. All sideline restarts will be throw-ins) and are indirect.

15. NO SLIDE TACKLES ARE ALLOWED. The Referee may require a player to leave the field, either temporarily or for the remainder of play for multiple infractions.

16. All other FIFA rules apply. NO SPITTING.

17. Players/coaches that receive a Red Card cannot participate for the rest of the tournament. 

18. Armonk Indoor promotes positive coaching, and reserves the right to ensure that the program gets the support of all participants.

19. Forfeited games will result in a 3-0 loss and a 3 point deduction.

20. Teams will only be credited with a maximum 6 goal differential. Teams who score more than 8 goal differentials may be subject to a 2 point penalty.

21. In the event of a tiebreak scenario, differentiation will be decided on 1) Head to Head 2) Goal difference 3) Number of Shut outs, and finally 4) Three penalty kicks will be taken by each team in question, sudden death penalties will come into play if a it is still a tie after the three penalties have been taken.
